Our Story
In 1968, Holdon & Nina Weatherford’s only son, Donny, was brought into the world, the youngest after three daughters, Teresa, Anita, and Sheila. Holdon was a Reverend who pastored at a local church, and he sure loved good food. Living inthe citrus groves of Central Florida, Holdon would hand-pick and collect these little hot peppers that grew around the groves, called “Grove Peppers”, even collecting “clippings” of his favorite plants to grow on his own, along with his vegetable garden. With these peppers, Holdon would make Pepper Sauces and Hot Sauces, and both were staples of the Weatherford table. Friends and family were often quick to ask for a bottle of his sauce, and Holdon was always quick to give it to them, even if it was his last bottle. He always knew it meant a chance to make another batch, a chance to share his time and process, “Holdon’s Way”, with his children. As Donny grew, so did his passion for peppers and sauces. Even after relocating to North Florida, Donny especially enjoyed trading peppers and plant clippings with Holdon and comparing the plants, fruits, and sauces. Although Holdon has since passed, his legacy and his passion lives on through his family.

Starting around 2015, Donny and his son, Dalton, began developing a variety of Sauces, Spices, and Dry Rubs. After years of fine-tuning several recipes, and sharing small batches with friends and family, it was decided to go to the next step, and increase production. They knew instantly that it would be the perfect tribute to Holdon and the Weatherford Family.
